Interlibrary loan and document delivery service is a service provided to KHAS members for urgent information needs (books, multimedia, articles, book chapters, theses, etc.) that cannot be met by the collections of the Information Center due to their education, research and institutional activities, by borrowing/providing them from domestic and international libraries that we collaborate with.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the borrowing of printed books that are not available in the Information Center collections from the libraries we have a cooperation protocol with for a certain period of time.
• To request an interlibrary loan, you can fill out the Interlibrary Loan Form by logging into your Information Center account with your username and password. Click here to access the form.
• Requesters will be informed about the Interlibrary Loan requests and the process through their @khas.edu.tr e-mail addresses.
• Requesters can follow the progress of their requests through their Information Center accounts.
• The turnaround time for a potential provider library in Turkey to fulfill a book request ranges from 3-7 business days.
• The loan periods for the books provided under the Interlibrary Loan vary according to the rules of the providing libraries. This period ranges from 15-45 days. The loan period and return date of the provided book can be seen from the Information Center account.
• If a book obtained from another library is damaged or lost, the relevant rules of the providing library will apply. All expenses incurred (book price, loss processing fee, late fees, etc.) will be covered by the requesting user.
Article / Document Delivery is obtaining articles, theses, book chapters, and other documents that are not available in the Information Center collections, in both printed and electronic formats, from the libraries we collaborate with. To request an interlibrary loan for an article, you can fill out the Interlibrary Article Loan Form by logging into your Information Center account with your username and password. Requesters will be informed about the document requests and the process through their @khas.edu.tr e-mail addresses. The turnaround time for a document request forwarded to a provider library ranges from 1-5 business days for domestic libraries and 7-21 business days for international libraries.
